The Church Reformed and Always Reforming |
“The Church Reformed and Always Reforming.” The need for us to follow this motto of the Reformation has never been greater than today. Every particular church has the call to faithful growth and reformation, and in every church God calls faithful men to lead and carry out this work. These faithful men need good training, but good training can be hard to find, as well as expensive. Maybe you've ordained new elders from your congregation and want them to have more theological and practical instruction. Maybe you've set a goal of planting churches and need to prepare evangelists to do the work. Maybe you want to see one of your men become a pastor, but you wonder if you’ll have to send him away to seminary in another city.
So how can a faithful church train and equip its men? NGA exists to help churches do just that. |
Why New Geneva Academy? |
At NGA, we believe that the local church is the best context for equipping the men God has called to be faithful leaders. As a ministry of Trinity Reformed Church, we saw God use the resources, encouragement, and accountability provided by our own congregation to raise up men for eldership, church planting, and pastoring through the Clearnote Pastors College. The modern seminary model is largely focused on the academic training of individuals, with little emphasis on the role of the local church. Our conviction is that the local church’s involvement is a key part of shaping and discipling leaders. We want to provide your church with the resources to train your people, whether for pastoring or eldership. And our unique partnership with you is what sets our program apart.

Training Pastors |
The Church needs mentors, disciplers, and spiritual fathers who understand how to guide and shape the next generation. When the Apostle Paul saw in Timothy a man called by God, he took Timothy with him to do ministry. Paul trained, encouraged, exhorted, and loved Timothy over the long term so that he could become a faithful servant of God who could shepherd the next generation. This pattern is the goal, and we want to help you achieve it.
In our pastors training program, your church provides a mentor who will love and shepherd the student, holding him accountable to godliness and the College’s standards. We work with the mentor to support and train him as he does the work of mentoring. Through this relationship, as well as a discipleship practicum, the student will come to understand his responsibility to disciple others, too. Our goal is for both mentor and mentored to grow in their ability and desire to disciple other men. Your church will be the beneficiary. Because academic training is important, New Geneva Academy is also a rigorous academic program with the classes you would expect from a traditional seminary, including Bible, systematic theology, hermeneutics, and original languages. We deliver classes in a way that allows working men to participate, using a mixture of online resources, live interactive video, and face-to-face teaching. And we place a heavy emphasis on practical training, from preaching to counseling to administrating and beyond. |
